AROUND THE HORN
- Southern Illinois travels to Edwardsville for a game against sister school SIUe on Tuesday afternoon. The teams are playing for the first time since 2010.
- SIU leads the all-time series, 23-9. The teams have played only three times since 1992, with the Salukis sweeping a three-game series from the Cougars.

- Five of the top-10 base stealers in the MVC are Salukis. Kopach (1st), Alex Lyon (2nd), Nikola Vasic (3rd), Addison Fugitt (t-6th), and Kenton Crawford (t-8th). Kopach leads the nation in steals and Lyon ranks 11th.
- During mid-week games, Alex Lyon is hitting .467 and Connor Kopach is hitting .450.
- SIU's offense is taking 5.65 free bases per game this season (walks or HBP). Last year's rate was 4.3 free bases per game (+1.35 per game improvement this year). The 2018 "free-base rate" is currently second-best in program history, behind 1980's 7.16 free passes per game.
