The Southern Illinois baseball team opens Missouri Valley Conference play at Illinois State this weekend. The series schedule has been adjusted due to weather concerns. The teams will now play a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Friday and a single game at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Southern Illinois travels to Illinois State for MVC-opening weekend.
The weekend schedule has been adjusted due to weather. The teams will now play a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Friday and a single game at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
SIU leads the all-time series with Illinois State, 90-87.
The Redbirds won 12 in a row between 2011-14; since then, the Salukis are 8-2 against Illinois State.
Illinois State ranks No. 49 nationally in the RPI. The Redbirds won three of four at Washington earlier in the season.
Ryan Netemeyer tied SIU's career saves record on Sunday vs. UC Irvine. Netemeyer recorded his 30th career save, tying Bryant George (2007-10) for the school record.
SIU's next win will be the 200th career win for head coach Ken Henderson.
SIU ranks fifth nationally in stolen bases with 64. For comparison, last year SIU had 44 stolen bases through 24 games.
Connor Kopach has 69 career stolen bases, which leads all active players in NCAA Division I. In 2018, Koapch leads the nation with 18 stolen bases.
Four SIU players (Kopach, Alex Lyon, Nikola Vasic and Addison Fugitt) have as many or more stolen bases as Illinois State does as a team this year (10).
SIU ranks third in the nation in sacrifice flies (18).
Brad Harrison ranks second in the MVC and 45th nationally in WHIP (0.90).
Southern Illinois is 9-4 in its last 13 games. The Salukis have outscored opponents 101-65 in that span.
