Southern Illinois faces No. 25-ranked Dallas Baptist in a three-game MVC weekend series in Horner Ballpark. The trip is the first of two trips to Dallas for the Salukis -- DBU is also the host of the 2018 MVC Tournament.

Southern Illinois travel to No. 25 Dallas Baptist for a three-game series this weekend.
DBU, the preseason MVC favorite, is the second ranked team SIU has played this season. Southern lost two of three to No. 24 Illinois earlier this season.
DBU has four ranked wins in the last three weeks. The Patriots took two of three from No. 22 Sam Houston State, and they beat No. 23 TCU on April 3 and No. 4 Texas Tech this past Tuesday.
DBU has won 25 of its last 26 weekend series at Horner Ballpark.
After starting the season 3-8, Southern Illinois is 15-6 in its last 21 games and 8-2 in its last 10. SIU has won each of its first two MVC series for the first time since 1999.
Going through the end of the regular season, 17 of SIU's next 23 games are against teams ranked in the RPI top-100.
