Salukis Drop Final Road Match of the Year to Dartmouth

SIU held Dartmouth scoreless until the 25th minute, as Allie Winstanley scored for the first point of the match. The Big Green tacked on to their lead nearly 10 minutes later with a goal from Charlotte Esty, her third of the season, to extend the lead to 2-0. The Salukis held the Big Green scoreless for the final 15 minutes before heading into the half.
Dartmouth started off the second half by way of Winsleanley's second goal of the night in the 61st minute to extend their lead to 3-0. A fourth Big Green goal would come a minute later, as Mollie McGorisk scored her fourth of the season to add to the lead.
The final goal for the Big Green came in the 81st minute from Ellie Geier.
Freshman goalkeeper Dariana Mihalache started the game in net for the Salukis and played the first 69 minutes and notched six saves before fellow classmate Sofia Howe came in to finish the contest.
SIU trailed in overall shots (17-5) and corner kicks (4-0), but lead the Big Green is saves (6-2).
Up Next: The Salukis will head back to Carbondale to ready for a regular season finale
