MURRAY, Ky. - The Southern Illinois men's basketball team heads to Murray State for a 7 p.m. game on Tuesday night. The all-time series between the programs is tied, 18-18, and the programs are 5-5 in the last 10 games of the series.

OPENING TIP

SIU faces Murray State on Tuesday night at the CFSB Center. The Salukis are playing their first true road game of the year. SIU faced UTSA, Delaware, and Oakland at a neutral site earlier this month.
The overall series with Murray State is tied, 18-18. SIU and MSU have played annually since 2013. The Racers have won four of those six meetings, including the last two.
SIU has played five games already in 2019, which is tied for eighth-most in the nation.
Aaron Cook had 7 steals against Oakland (11/10/19), the most in the nation in 2019-20. Cook became the 4th player in SIU history with 7+ steals in a game, and first since Mullins did it in 2006.
Aaron Cook enters the game ranked No. 2 in the nation with 17 steals this season. With 136 career steals, Cook has 45 more than anyone else in the Missouri Valley Conference
Cook is two steals away from cracking the top-10 in SIU history for career steals. He would tie Desmar Jackson (2013-14) for 10th on SIU's all-time list with 138 career steals.

Freshman guard Trent Brown has not committed a turnover against a Division I opponent yet this season. Brown has played 83 minutes against Division I opponents without a turnover, the most minutes of any of the seven freshmen with a 0.00 turnover rate (via Kenpom, min. 40% minutes):

Saluki Athletics donated more than 5,300 hours of community service to Carbondale and the surrounding area during 2018-19, which ranked fourth in the nation.
Mid-Major Madness listed SIU's non-conference schedule as the toughest in the Missouri Valley Conference: (1) Southern Illinois, (2) Illinois State, (3) Missouri State, (4) Loyola, (5) Bradley, (6) Drake.
