ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The SIU men's basketball team is set to travel to Saint Louis for a 3 p.m. game on Sunday. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. and the game will be televised on Fox Sports Midwest.

OPENING TIP

SIU travels to Saint Louis for a 3 p.m. game on Sunday, December 1. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Midwest.
The Billikens are 6-1 on the season and coming off a win at Boston College.
SIU senior center Barret Benson is shooting 67.9% from the field, which leads the MVC and ranks 11th in the nation.
SIU freshman forward Marcus Domask is the MVC's leading scorer among freshmen at 13.0 ppg. Among MVC freshman, Domask also leads the league in assists (2.9), is second in rebounding (3.3) and third in steals (0.9). Domask is one of only 10 freshmen nationally averaging at least 12.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.

The Salukis will be without senior guard Aaron Cook Jr., who broke his hand during SIU's game at Murray State. Cook is expected to miss 4-6 weeks. Cook was leading SIU in scoring (15.0 ppg), steals (3.2) and assists (3.3). At the time of his injury, Cook ranked second in the nation in steals.
Three areas SIU is excelling at:
- Fewest turnovers per game (11.9 - 58th nationally - 3rd in MVC)
- 3-point FG% defense (.285 - 65th nationally - 3rd in MVC)
- Fewest fouls per game (13.7 - 15th nationally - 1st in MVC)
SIU leads the Missouri Valley Conference in field goal percentage defense (.389). SIU has held four of its seven opponents under 40% shooting, and all seven opponents under 50% shooting.
SIU is allowing 61.1 points per game, which ranks second in the MVC and 50th nationally (of 353).
The Salukis held three-straight opponents under 40% shooting to open the season, marking the first time SIU did that to open a season since 1989-90.

SERIES CHECK

Saint Louis leads the all-time series, 31-27. The Salukis have won three of the last four games, including last year's game in Carbondale.
The teams have played annually since 2011. Since 1989, the teams have played every year except 1999, 2003, and 2010.
