QUOTABLE
"We can control what we can control. If our guys are focused and do their job, no one needs to be a superstar; no one needs to be a hero; we don't need anyone to score 30 points or grab 20 rebounds. Everyone has to play the way they're capable, and they have to do their best every single possession. We have to compete on every possession on Sunday." - SIU head coach Bryan Mullins | Watch the full press conference on YouTube

OPENING TIP
- After a week off for finals, the SIU men's basketball team heads to Columbia, Mo., for a matchup with SEC foe Mizzou.Â
- SIU freshman forward Marcus Domask is one of seven freshmen nationally averaging at least 14.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game this season. Domask and New Hampshire's Sean Sutherlin are the only mid-major freshmen putting up those numbers.Â
- Domask leads all MVC freshmen in scoring, rebounding, and assists.Â
- Life without AC: SIU star senior guard Aaron Cook (from St. Louis) broke his hand in SIU's November 19 game at Murray State. He had surgery and was expected to miss 4-6 weeks. In four games without AC, Domask has led SIU, averaging 18.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists, and he has shot 54% from the field. SIU has also gotten balanced scoring from Barret Benson (10.3 ppg), Eric McGill (10.0) and Lance Jones (9.5).
- SIU graduate transfer Ronnie Suggs Jr. was a member of the Mizzou basketball program for the previous two seasons. Suggs was injured and missed the first four games of this season, but has started every game for SIU since he returned. Suggs highlight at Mizzou was scoring 13 points vs. #4 Kentucky last season (2/19/19).
- SIU is 9-23 all-time against teams currently in the Southeastern Conference.
- Last game: Nov. 9, 2018 at #2 Kentucky
- Last win: Nov. 23, 2007 vs. Mississippi St (Anaheim, Calif.)
- Last road win: Dec. 28, 1992 at Ole Miss
