Development Staff Profile -- Director of Athletic Ticketing David Moore

David Moore became SIU's Director of Athletics Ticketing in spring 2018. A Tuscaloosa, Alabama, native, Moore has worked in athletic ticketing at Alabama and Arkansas. With the Crimson Tide, Moore worked with football, men's basketball, Knight-Eady Sports Group, the U.S. Olympics and the U.S. Senior Games. At Arkansas, he worked overseeing ticketing for soccer, track and field, and baseball.

Moore played football at West Alabama and earned a bachelor's degree in sports management. He earned his master's degree at Alabama in sports business.

What is your connection to SIU?
My connection to SIU is a fairly recent one. I moved to Carbondale in April of 2018 when I accepted the job of Director of Athletic Ticketing.

Why is the relationship between the Ticket and Development office important to SIU's success?
The relationship between the ticket office and development office is vital to the success of SIU and SIU Athletics. Saluki Athletic Scholarship Fund benefits are tied to season tickets, so you could not have one without the other. The two offices work hand in hand to ensure we provide our patrons with the highest level of customer service that they deserve.

Why do you give to SIU Athletics/SASF? Why should others give?
I give to the SASF because I know how much it truly benefits our student-athletes. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to give back to the SASF and our student-athletes in order to help them succeed on and off the field.

Tell us about some of the best SIU memories that you have?
Some of my best memories of SIU were some of my first memories here in Carbondale. I will never forget coming to Carbondale for the first time and seeing what all this great university has to offer. I fell in love with the campus and university from the moment I stepped on campus. I knew that this place would be somewhere I would be proud to work and happy to call home. Another moment that sticks out in my mind is the first home football game of the year in 2018. I grew up playing football and I just love feeling that excitement of game day in the air. It was great to experience things like Saluki Row just to see how passionate our fans are for SIU and their Salukis.
