The Southern Illinois University baseball team travels to San Diego, Calif. to take part in the Tony Gwynn Legacy Tournament, where they will face the University of Arizona on Friday, the University of Southern California on Saturday and Seattle University on Sunday. - Southern and Arizona are tied in the all-time series at 3-3-1, while the Salukis and USC Trojans met in the 1968 national championship game. Southern led 3-2 with two outs in the ninth inning before USC's Pat Kuehner hit a two-run walkoff triple to give USC the national title.Â

- The USC Trojans are entering the tournament fresh off of a 14-3 victory over Western Michigan University on Feb. 16.
