After a 21-day layoff, the Salukis are back on the court January 25-26 at Indiana State for games at 6 p.m. and 4 p.m. CT, respectively. SIU had five games postponed due to positive COVID test results among SIU's Tier 1 personnel. Thanks to the MVC's flexible schedule, all five games have been able to be rescheduled, including these two games at Indiana State, which were originally scheduled to be played January 9-10.

OPENING TIP
- After a 21-day layoff, the Salukis are back on the court January 25-26 at Indiana State for games at 6 p.m. and 4 p.m. CT, respectively. SIU had five games postponed -- including these two games against Indiana State -- due to positive COVID test results among SIU's Tier 1 personnel.
- SIU's pause is its second this season. The Salukis also had a pause in November and did not play in Louisville's Wade Houston Tip-Off Classic November 25-29.
- From now until the end of the regular season, SIU will play 14 games in 33 days. From Feb. 6-21, SIU will play eight games in 16 days.
- Trent Brown is shooting 51.6% from the 3-point line. Via KenPom, Brown ranks 14th nationally in effective field goal percentage (69.8%) and 12th in true shooting percentage (70.2%).
- SIU is ranked No. 20 in the most recent mid-major top-25 poll of mid-major head coaches.
- SIU is shooting 40.2% from the 3-point line this season, which ranks 11th in the nation (through Jan. 22 games).
- Lance Jones leads the MVC in steals per game (1.8/g). The last SIU player to lead the MVC in steals per game was now-head coach Bryan Mullins in 2008.
- New patch: SIU will wear RH patches on its jerseys for the remainder of the season, in memory of SIU and MVC Hall-of-Fame coach Rich Herrin, who died on Christmas night at the age of 87.
- SIU started the season 7-0, the program's best start to a season since 1947-48.
- SIU had seven-game winning streaks in back-to-back seasons for the first time since the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons.
- Bryan Mullins is one of 35 head coaches in Division I who is coaching at his alma mater.
