Women’s Golf 3-Strokes Back in Duel Between Bradley

CARBONDALE, ILL. — SIU women's golf is 3-strokes back in a 36 hole duel between Bradley (+12) after shooting 303 (+15) in the opening round at Hickory Ridge Golf Course.
Senior Emilyee McGiles (T2) led the Salukis as she fired a score of 74 (+2) and carded two birdies in the opening round. Ayanna Habeel had a strong performance, finishing with back-to-back birdies to end the day with a score of 75 (+3). Fifth year Erica Kerr shot a 75 (+3) and is tied for sixth. Rosemarie Bundy carded a 78 (+6) and Moyea Russell shot 81 (+9) to round out the Salukis scoring.
Southern Illinois has five individuals competing in the Battle Between Southern and Bradley. Janie Samattiyadeekul is tied for fourth with a score of 75 (+3) after the first 18 holes. Sophomore Secilia Ho and freshman Hollie James are both tied for 8th at 5-over. Amelia Lawson is tied for 15th after carding 80 (+8) and Megan Breslin sits in 18th with a score of 84 (+12).
The Salukis will tee off for the final 18 holes on Sunday beginning at a rescheduled time of 10:00 a.m. CT, shotgun start. Live scoring will be available on Golftstat.
