- SIU beat Bradley 73-63 on Thursday evening to advance to Friday's quarterfinal against #20 Loyola. SIU snapped a three-game Arch Madness losing streak. Before Thursday's win over Bradley, SIU's last MVC Tournament win was March 3, 2017, vs. Loyola, when head coach Bryan Mullins was an assistant for the Ramblers.
- SIU and Loyola played the last weekend of the regular season. Loyola won both games. The Salukis came back from 16-point deficits in each game, but Loyola held on to win. In the second game of the back-to-back, SIU took the lead in the final minutes and forced overtime, but Loyola earned the win. With that overtime win for Loyola, the Ramblers earned the MVC title and the No. 1 seed.Â
