
Spotak Tabbed All-MVC Second Team

CARBONDALE. Ill. -- The Missouri Valley Conference announced the all-conference honors recipients for the spring 2020-21 women's soccer season on Friday. Sophomore Emma Spotak was named to the All-MVC Second Team, being the first Saluki in program history to be named in post-season awards as new members of the MVC.
The flex defender/forward from Palatine, Illinois started and played in all nine matches for SIU in 2021, being one of three Salukis this season to do so. Spotak finished the season with 10 shots, four shots-on-goal and was credited with the assist to teammate Kaitlin DuCharme's goal against Missouri State on April 7. She recorded a career-high five shots and three shots-on-goal against Evansville (3/9), and averaged 1.11 shots a game in her second collegiate season.
The MVC women's soccer championship game will be played with #1 Loyola and #3 Valparaiso on Sunday, April 18.
