
Women's Basketball Continues Valley Play Thursday at Drake

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Southern Illinois University women's basketball team will try to secure a 3-0 start in conference play as it travels to Drake for a 6 p.m. tip-off on Thursday.
The Salukis (7-5, 2-0) started Missouri Valley Conference play with wins over Valparaiso and Loyola Chicago. Southern has allowed 60.2 points per game, good for third in the MVC. Meanwhile, Drake leads the conference with 77.9 points scored per game. Thursday's matchup will also be a battle in the post, as Drake leads the MVC in rebounding margin, while the Salukis rank 4th. Southern has out-rebounded their opponent in eight of their 12 games so far this year.
The game will air locally on Magic 95.1, and will stream on ESPN+.
