CARBONDALE, Ill. — Southern Illinois continues its three-game homestand when it hosts Drake at the Banterra Center at 7 p.m. on Monday. The first 500 fans can pick up free rollabanas at the marketing table near the main entrance.
The Salukis (9-7, 2-2) are coming off their first home loss of the season, a 69-68 setback versus Northern Iowa on Saturday night, despite having a pair of 20-point scorers in Marcus Domask (23) and Lance Jones (20).
The Bulldogs (12-5, 3-1) are the Missouri Valley Conference preseason favorite to win the title and return essentially the same squad that won 26 games last season and beat Wichita State in the NCAA Tournament. Since then, they've added four-star freshman Tucker DeVries, son of head coach Darian DeVries, and he is their leading scorer.
Drake enters the game on five day's rest, having been idle since beating Illinois State last Wednesday. The Bulldogs are 6-1 in the past month, with their only loss coming at Missouri State on Jan. 2.
