
Saluki Basketball Set for Oklahoma State Thursday Night in Stillwater

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois basketball will travel to Oklahoma State for a Thursday night matchup with the Cowboys inside historic Gallagher-Iba Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CT on ESPN Plus.

- Monday's game will be available nationally on ESPN Plus with Mike Wolfe (play-by-play) and Bryndon Manzer (analyst) calling the action.
- The radio broadcast can be heard on the Saluki Radio Network with SIU Hall of Famer Mike Reis (play-by-play) and Rodney Watson (analyst) on the call.
- Southern Illinois is 4-2 all-time against Oklahoma State. The last time the two programs met was during the 2007-08 season when SIU hosted OSU during the NIT, defeating the Cowboys 69-53. The teams also met in the NCAA Tournament in 2004-05 with OSU winning that game 85-77.Â
- This meeting with the Cowboys is the first of three matchups in a 2-for-1 deal that was inked during the preseason. Southern will host OSU in the 2023-24 season at Banterra Center before finishing up the deal in Stillwater in 2024-25. Â
- Marcus Domask and Lance Jones were named to the preseason All-MVC teams. Domask was named to the First Team and Jones was named to the Second Team. Â
- Domask led the Salukis and ranked fifth in the MVC a year ago after scoring 15.1 points per game. To go along with his scoring output, the Waupun, Wisconsin native also led the Salukis in rebounding (5.2) and assists (3.9) becoming just the third player in school history to do so, joining Darren Brooks and Desmar Jackson. Â
- Jones, a two-way stopper, was second on the team and eighth in the MVC in scoring at a 14.8 clip, reaching double-digits in 25 games. An Evanston, Illinois product, Jones led the MVC with 1.93 steals per game, recording at least one steal in 26 games. For his efforts he was named to the MVC All-Defensive Team. Â
- Southern Illinois was picked to finish third in the Missouri Valley Conference Preseason Poll, behind favorite Drake (646) and Bradley. The Salukis (537) finished just five points behind the Braves (542) in total points. Each of the top three received a first-place vote. Â
- Marcus Domask was named the co-State Farm MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, along with Northern Iowa's A.J. Green in 2021-22. He has a 4.00 GPA and is majoring in sport administration. Is SIU's first Scholar-Athlete of the Year in men's basketball since Bryan Mullins won it in 2009. Â
