Saluki Baseball’s Tuesday game moved to Itchy Jones Stadium

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Due to weather conditions, the Southern Illinois University baseball team's game at Austin Peay has been moved to Carbondale, Ill. The Salukis and the Governors will now play Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. inside Itchy Jones Stadium in Carbondale, Ill.
In addition, the April 19 game between the teams now will be played in Clarksville. Tickets for Tuesday's game will be honored on the April 19 date.
Admission to Tuesday's contest, as well as all Saluki baseball and softball games this spring, is free. Fans can follow along via the live stats available at siusalukis.com/baseball/schedule.
Notes
• SIU and Austin Peay were originally scheduled to play today's game at APSU, but the game was moved to SIU's Itchy Jones Stadium due to the weather forecast. The two teams will now play their scheduled 4/19/22 game in Clarksville, Tn. instead of at SIU.
• SIU Coach Lance Rhodes is 1-1 vs. APSU. Rhodes and SIU lost at Clarksville, Tn., 4-1, in 2020. He and the Salukis beat the Governors the following year (2021) 15-0 in Carbondale.

• CF JT Weber led the Salukis in hits in the season-opening three game series at Louisiana-Monroe. He was 6 for 13 with 4 RBIs and 3 Runs. He also stole a base and played error-free ball in his first collegiate games as a center fielder.
• SIU slugged 2 HRs in the ULM series. Purdue transfer Jeremy Schork's homer broke an 8-8 tie in Sunday's series finale. LF Pier-Olivier Boucher homered, drove in five runs, and had four hits.
• RP Trey McDaniel (Senior; Williamsville, Mo.) is in third place in career saves (28). The record belongs to Ryan Netemeyer (2015-18) with 37. McDaniel was the winning pitcher in SIU's 10-9 win at Louisiana-Monroe.
• The Salukis return four pitchers who made at least two MVC starts in 2021: Noah Farmer (MVC: 7/5 1-2, 2.18), Ben Chapman (MVC: 7/7 3-4, 4.02), Mike Hansell (MVC: 6/6 0-2, 9.19) and Tanner Lewis (MVC: 7/2 2-1, 3.86).
