Women's Basketball Heads to Indiana St. for Mid-Week Matchup

CARBONDALE, Ill. — The Southern Illinois University women's basketball team continues the Missouri Valley Conference season on Wednesday in a road tilt against Indiana State. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. ET from the Hulman Center in Terre Haute, Ind.
The Salukis (12-7, 7-2) are off to the program's best start in conference play since the 2006-07 season. The top-two scorers in MVC games this season are both Salukis: Makenzie Silvey (18.1 points per game) and Abby Brockmeyer (16.2 points per game).
Southern won the last matchup with the Sycamores, a 90-89 overtime victory on Mar. 11, 2021 in Moline, Ill. during Hoops in the Heartland. SIU shot 57.1% as a team in the game. Five Salukis scored in double-figures, led by Silvey with 23 points.
The Salukis will return to Banterra Center on Friday for a 6 p.m. matchup with Northern Iowa. Southern's Blackout Cancer game will take place on Sunday at 1 p.m. against Drake.
