
Salukis look to snap skid at UIC

The Southern Illinois Salukis will look to avoid a three-game losing streak on Saturday when they head to Chicago to take on UIC.Â
Southern and the Flames tip at 2 p.m. Saturday at Credit Union 1 Arena. Saturday also marks the first meeting with the Salukis and UIC since 2000.Â
The Salukis are coming off of a road loss to Missouri State on Wednesday as thye fell to 3-2 in Missouri Valley Conference play.Â
All-Time vs. UIC
• Saturday is the third all-time meeting between Southern and UIC.
• The Salukis lead the series 2-0.
• The two teams haven't met since Nov. 18, 2000, when SIU earned a 57-40 victory in Chicago.
• SIU won the first game in the rseries 62-46 Nov. 29, 1999, in Carbondale.

• SIU fell to Missouri State 78-57 in Springfield on Wednesday.
• Shemera Williams led Southern with 17 points and six steals.
