
Salukis and Skyhawks Set for Midweek Clash Tuesday at Itchy Jones Stadium

CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois baseball will go for a season sweep of UT Martin Tuesday night at Itchy Jones Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. and admission is free.

• The Salukis defeated the Skyhawks 6-2 on the road earlier this season behind a three-hit game from Nathan Bandy.
• SIU is coming off a 3-0 weekend after sweeping UIC to open Missouri Valley Conference play.
• SIU leads the country in double plays turned (36) and double plays turned per game (1.50).
• Six Salukis hold batting averages over .300, with two hitters over .360.

Three Salukis had two homers each in the weekend series including Bennett Eltoft, Matt Schark and Steven Loden. SIU is tied atop the MVC with Evansville with 35 home runs.
