Saluki Softball headed to Utah for NCAA Tournament

Salukis will play host school Utah, the No. 15 seed, at 2:30 p.m. CT on Friday on ESPN+
CARBONDALE, Ill. - The day after beating Indiana State in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship game to claim the league's automatic bid, Southern Illinois was assigned to the NCAA Tournament's Utah Regional on SundayÂ
SIU will open play Friday versus Utah at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN+. It's the 14th overall NCAA Tournament appearance for the Salukis (36-18) and fourth since 2017.Â
The regional will be hosted by overall No. 15 seed Utah (37-13) and also includes Baylor (39-16) and Ole Miss (30-26). In the most recent NCAA RPI rankings, all three opponents rank within the top-35. No. 21 Utah and No. 15 Baylor were both ranked in last week's NFCA Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll last week.

Game 1: Ole Miss vs. Baylor at 12 pm
Game 2: Southern Illinois vs. Utah at 2:30 pm
Saturday
Game 3: winner of Game 1 vs. winner of Game 2 at 2 pm
Game 4: loser of Game 1 vs. loser of Game 2 at 4:30 pm
Game 5: winner of Game 4 vs. loser of Game 3 at 7Â pm
Sunday
Game 6: winner of Game 3 vs. winner of Game 5 at 12:00 pm
Game 7: at 2:30 pm if necessary, as a rematch of Game 6
