Saluki Softball to host 4 doubleheaders in fall season

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University softball team will host four doubleheaders at Charlotte West Stadium during its fall season.
The Salukis will host Jefferson (Mo.) College Sunday, Sept. 20, Parkland College Saturday, Sept. 26, Three Rivers (Mo.) Community College Sunday, Oct. 18, and Lake Land College Friday, Oct. 23. Admission is free to the doubleheaders.Â
SIU returns seven starters off last season's 34-17 squad, including three first team All-Missouri Valley Conference selections. Infielder Emily Williams, the Salukis' RBIs leader, infielder Amanda Knutson, who started 48 of 50 games last season, and outfielder Maleah Blomenkamp all made the all-league first team in 2026. Blomenkamp led the Salukis with a .371 average.Â
Senior Sydney Potter was SIU's representative on the MVC All-Defensive Team, becoming the fourth catcher in program history to receive the honor. Potter hit .289 in 51 games with a team-high 17 home runs.Â
