CARBONDALE, Ill. — The United States Marine Corps and the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced its list of collegiate and high school volleyball teams that earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award for 2023, and Southern Illinois made the list for the 18th-straight year.
The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 or better on a 4.0 scale.
"We are honored to receive this award from the AVCA and the United States Marine Corps and to carry on the tradition of academic success within Saluki Volleyball," said head coach Ed Allen. "Academic excellence serves as a cornerstone to our foundation and follows our motto — How you do anything is how you do everything!"
