Salukis Drop Road Match to Northern Iowa

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The Southern Illinois University women's soccer team (1-6-3) were blanked on the road at Northern Iowa on Sunday, falling by a score of 3-0.Â
In the 10th minute, the Panthers got on the board, with Olivia Knoepfle scoring the opener to give UNI the 1-0 advantage. This would remain the score going into the halftime break.Â
Northern Iowa out-shot SIU, 5-3, in the first half.
The next two goals for UNI would come in the span of six minutes in the second half. Denise Camarena found the back-of-the-net in the 53rd minute, followed by Knoepfle for the second time in the match in the 59th minute.
In the 3-0 loss, Chantelle Symes made one save in 53 minutes before leaving the match. McKensey Bunch made her first career appearance in-goal, making two saves in the final 37 minutes.
The Salukis are back at home on Thursday to host Evansville at 6 p.m.
