News | Lis Recognized as No. 9 Shortstop in D1Softball's Middle Infield Power Rankings

Carbondale, Ill. - Jackie Lis came in at No. 9 on D1Softball's list of top 15 shortstops entering the 2024 softball season. Lis, a sophomore, is the only underclassmen in the top 10 and one of just three players on the list of 15 to not belong to a Power 5 conference.Â
D1Softball recognized Lis as the National Freshman of the Week (3/21) a season ago as well as a member of the Freshman All-American team in 2023. Lis comes into her second season after a historical freshman year as she broke five SIU records and played a large role in helping lead the Salukis to a 2023 MVC Tournament Championship.Â
The Salukis and Lis kickoff the 2024 season in just over two weeks at the Texas State Tournament in San Marcos, Texas with a doubleheader on February 9.Â
