Recap | Southern drops close four-set match to Illinois State

NORMAL, Ill. -Â Southern Illinois Women's Volleyball fell in four sets to Illinois State in a close match throughout Friday in Normal.
After winning the first set, the Salukis (10-15, 3-11 MVC) could not get the points in big moments and Illinois State (13-14, 8-6 MVC) won the next three sets to claim the match.
Annabelle Sulish tallied her third 20-kill match of the season and her 11th double-double. Larissa Seger led with six blocks and Ema Stermenska had 21 assists.
The Redbirds led 20-17 in set one before the Salukis scored eight of the last 10 points highlighted by a block from Larissa Seger to take set one.
Illinois State led by as much as nine in set two and cruised to a 25-19 victory.
Sets three and four had an eerily similar feeling, with the teams going back and forth, but Illinois State edged out SIU by scores of 25-23 and 25-22, respectively.
UP NEXT
The Salukis will wrap up the weekend with a date against Bradley Saturday in Peoria. The first serve is scheduled for 5 p.m.
