
Recap | Southern Illinois Earns Senior Day Win Over Bradley, 70-54

CARBONDALE, Ill. - On Senior Day, the Southern Illinois University women's basketball team (9-19, 4-14 MVC) defeated Bradley, 70-54, at the Banterra Center.
"We just kept our foot on the gas," head coach Kelly Bond-White said. "Overall, I'm pleased with our effort."
The Salukis never trailed in their win over Bradley.
In the first quarter, SIU was dominant. Southern shot 60.0% from the field in scoring 22 points, while holding the Braves to just 12 points on 33.3% shooting. Laniah Randle led the Salukis with 11 points to begin the game.
Southern Illinois slowed down in the second quarter but still out-scored Bradley, 14-12. The Salukis led, 36-24, at the end of the first half.
SIU got going again offensively in the third, scoring 19 points on 50% field-goal shooting. On the other side, the Braves posted a field-goal percentage of 35.71% and tallied 14 points.
Bradley out-scored the Dawgs, 16-15, in the fourth, but Southern held on to win, 70-54. The win snapped SIU's three-game losing streak.
Senior Adrianna Katcher posted an all-around stat line of eight points, four assists, eight rebounds, and a career-high five blocks in the win. Randle had her league-leading fourth 30-point game, scoring 32 points with 14 rebounds, her 10th double-double of the season.
Southern will finish the regular season next week on the road at Valparaiso on Thursday, March 7, followed by UIC on Saturday, March 9.
