DES MOINES, Iowa - Southern Illinois Women's Volleyball lost via a 3-0 sweep by Drake Saturday in Des Moines.
The Salukis fought hard, but Drake found a way to separate with crucial runs in the middle of each set.
Annabelle Sulish led the Salukis with eight kills, while Kelly Franklin and Larissa Seger tallied three blocks each.
SIU held a 14-13 lead in set one, but a 6-0 run from the Bulldogs paved the way to a 25-21 set one victory for Drake.
Drake's set two run came after Southern led 10-8. They outscored the Salukis 17-6 from that point on and took a commanding 2-0 match lead.
The Salukis kept set three close and crept within four at 22-18, but could not close the gap any further and the Bulldogs completed the sweep.
Drake duo Megan Witte and Macy Daufeldt did it all, combining for 26 kills, five service aces, 15 digs, and seven blocks.

The Salukis will return to Davies Gym and host Bradley Friday, October 4.
