CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University women's basketball team (2-11 overall, 0-4 conference) is heading to Terre Haute, Ind., on Thursday at 6 p.m. (CT) to face Indiana State.

- Through four Missouri Valley Conference games, Southern Illinois holds an 0-4 league record and 2-11 overall record.Â
- The Salukis are 11th in the Missouri Valley Conference in scoring defense, allowing 73.2 points-per-game. Offensively, SIU is 12th, averaging 58.2 points-per-game.Â
- Southern is seventh in the MVC in rebounding (36.8). In terms of offensive rebounding, SIU is second at 13.2, which also ranks 87th in the country.
- SIU is averaging 3.23 blocks-per-game, ranking sixth in the Valley. At Missouri State, the Salukis posted five blocks, their most since this season. This was their 10th game with at least three blocks.
- SIU is currently 12th in the conference standings. Evansville is also still searching for its first league win of the year.Â
- Drake currently sits in first at 5-0 in the MVC and 11-5 overall. The Bulldogs are the only team in the conference still unbeaten in Valley play.
LEADING THE SALUKIS
- Gift Uchenna was held to single digits for the first time in six games on Sunday, scoring seven points. Uchenna is averaging 14.7 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks-per-game, and is the only MVC player to be averaging a double-double. The junior leads the conference and ranks second in the nation in rebounding, and is first in the country in offensive rebounds-per-game (5.6). Uchenna's eight double doubles are tied for 15th in the NCAA.
- Kayla Cooper has scored in double figures in four of her last six games after having one such game in her first six appearances of the year. Cooper was held to five points at Missouri State, however, and went 1-of-8 from deep. The eight three-point attempts were a season-high. Cooper's 1.9 steals-per-game ranks eighth in the conference, and the sophomore guard has had multiple steals in six games.
- Se'Quoia Allmond is third on the team in scoring, averaging 7.6 points-per-game. Allmond has started in five consecutive games for SIU, but played 10 minutes at Missouri State, her fewest since playing eight on Nov. 13 vs. Louisiana Monroe. The senior has scored in double figures in four games this season.
- Isabella Palmqvist has come off the bench in four straight games after starting the previous eight. Palmqvist went 2-of-2 at the free throw line against the Lady Bears, raising her season line to 10-of-13 (.769). The freshman's 15 three pointers made are the second-most on the team (Cooper, 16).
- Tkiyah Nelson played a season-high 36 minutes against Missouri State in what was the sophomore's fourth straight start. Nelson has scored in double figures in three games, and has had multiple steals in six games, but none in her last three appearances.Â
- Tyranny Brown's 5.5 points-per-game are the sixth most on the team, while her .789 free throw percentage is tied for a team-high. Brown has scored in double-figures in three games, but has been held to single digits in seven straight games.Â
- Jeniah Thompson played a season-high 27 minutes against Missouri State. This was also her fifth start of the year after missing six games with a shoulder injury suffered at Auburn.
LOOKING AT INDIANA STATE
- Indiana State is 3-12 overall and 1-3 in conference play heading into Thursday's game.Â
- The Sycamores got their first league win of the year in their last game, defeating Evansville, 90-74, on Jan. 12. ISU's 90 points are a season-high.Â
- Indiana State have played just four games at home, holding a record of 1-3 in Terre Haute. It has played in 11 games away from home, posting a record of 2-9 in those games.
- Keslyn Secrist is averaging a team-high 13.3 points-per-game, followed by Chloe Williams' 12.8.
SERIES HISTORY
- The Salukis hold a record of 61-48 all-time vs. Indiana State after going 1-2 against the Sycamores in 2023-24. SIU defeated Indiana State in Terre Haute, but lost at home and in the MVC Tournament.
- Thursday's game will be the 110th meeting between the two programs.
