Women's Golf finishes play at Lady Red Wolves Classic

JONESBORO, Ark. - Southern Illinois Women's Golf completed play at the Lady Red Wolves Classic Tuesday in Jonesboro, Ark., with a 16th-place finish.
Head Coach Samantha Sambursky saw many encouraging signs from her young team.
"We posted four scores in the 70s all rounds, and our last round was our low for the Fall so far," she said. "My goal coming into the Fall was to build team relationships and keep improving each round, and we have done that."

This steady improvement is exactly what Sambursky wanted to see, and will bode well as the Salukis prepare for a quick turnaround.
"The team is buying into the process, and we plan to keep improving as we head to K-State this weekend."

The Salukis will wrap up the fall campaign with a trip to the Powercat Invitational on Monday, Oct. 20.

- Hannia Gastelum: 100th, 249 (+33)
This steady improvement is exactly what Sambursky wanted to see, and will bode well as the Salukis prepare for a quick turnaround.
