SIU visited UAB on Wednesday, falling to the Blazers 81-54. Alayna Kraus continued her double-digit scoring streak with her 14 points; the Oral Roberts transfer has failed to score 10+ in a game so far this season. Kraus did a little of everything for the Salukis, dishing up a team-high three assists and swiping a game-high four steals. Kayla Cooper hit double-digit points as will with 11, and Indya Green put up a 11-point and 11-rebound double-double.
The Matchup
The two teams have faced each other 17 times throughout their shared history, with the Salukis holding a 9-8 series advantage. SEMO was the victor last season, defeating SIU 70-58 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. However, prior to that Redhawks' win, SIU had won the previous three matchups and eight of the past nine games, including the last game in Carbondale, an 85-70 win in 2023.
SEMO enters this game with a 3-4 record in 2025, most recently defeating Harris-Stowe (NAIA) 116-34 on Wednesday. The Redhawks set two single game records in the win: most points scored in a game and largest margin of victory. This snapped a two-game losing streak for the Redhawks, who dropped matches to Arizona State and San Diego at the Thanksgiving Tournament MTE on November 29 and 30.
