News | Men picked fourth, Women eighth in the MVC Outdoor Pre-Championship poll

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Southern Illinois Track and Field men's team was picked to finish fourth and the women eighth in the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Pre-Championship Poll.

The men's team received 66 points, placing them fourth in The Valley behind Northern Iowa with 85 points (three first-place votes), Illinois State with 87 points (one first-place vote), and Indiana State in first with 96 points (six first-place votes).

The women's team received 69 points, placing them eighth in The Valley. Indiana State was picked as the favorite, receiving 144 points and all 12 first-place votes.

The MVC Outdoor Championship will kick off on Saturday, May 17, at the Lew Hartzog Track and Field Complex in Carbondale, Ill.
