The Matchup
All-time, the Salukis have dominated the matchup against the Racers 41-10. However, Murray State holds the advantage in recent history, having won the previous five matchups. They last met in Murray on March 1, 2025, when the Racers won 87-64. Prior to that was Murray State's last win in Carbondale on January 2, 2025. SIU's last win in the series came in January 2023, with their last win at SIU being in 2019.
Murray State has proven to be on of the best teams in conference this year, living up to their title of runner-up in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll. The Racers hold a 14-2 record while going 5-0 in conference play. Their last win was a 95-67 drubbing of Drake on Sunday. However, Thursday's matchup will be just Murray State's second conference game on the road. The Racers currently ride a 12-game winning streak, not having lost since November 18 at Illinois.
