Short Turnaround for Women’s Basketball as They Host Bradley on Sunday

CARBONDALE, Ill. – It will be an all-basketball day at Southern Illinois on Sunday, as the men's team plays at 1 p.m. before women's basketball (9-13, 6-7) welcomes Bradley (17-8, 10-4) for a 4 p.m. game.

Last Time Out
Southern last saw action on Friday night as they dominated Illinois State, 86-60. Alayna Kraus was the offensive star for SIU, dropping her first ever 30-piece. She was supported by Kayla Cooper and her 17 points, 15 of which came from beyond the arc. Jeniah Thompson also scored 10+ with 13. The win was one of SIU's best shooting games of the season, hitting 47.7% of their field goals as well as 60% of their three-point attempts. With the win, Southern's first over Illinois State since 2022, the Salukis have now won five of their last six games.

The Matchup
The Braves have dominated the all-time matchup against the Salukis, leading the series 64-23. They met earlier this season at Bradley on December 18, 2025, where the Braves won 64-47. That win extended Bradley's win streak in the series to three games. SIU's last win over Bradley came in March 2024 when the Salukis won 70-54 in Carbondale.

Bradley enters this game with a 17-8 overall record while they are 10-4 in Missouri Valley Conference play. They are coming off a 79-68 win at Evansville on Friday, their third straight win. The Braves have also won six of their last seven games.
