CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois women's basketball (9-15, 6-9) is back on the road as they travel to Indiana State (8-18, 4-12) on Saturday for a 1 p.m. CST matchup.

Last Time Out
SIU wrapped up a homestand on Thursday with a 77-48 loss to UNI. Kynnedi Davis was the lone Saluki to score double-digit points as she dropped 12, while Indya Green led the charge on the boards with eight rebounds. It was a rough shooting night for the Salukis, who converted on 19 of their 57 field goal attempts.

Weekly Honors
Alayna Kraus was named the MVC Newcomer of the Week for the week of February 16. That came off a week in which she scored a career-high 30 points in an 86-60 win over Illinois State on February 13 and then game-high 18 points against Bradley on February 15.

The Matchup
Southern holds a 58-47 all-time advantage over the Sycamores in their shared history. They met earlier this season in Carbondale when the Salukis downed Indiana State 86-74 on January 22. The Sycamores' last win over SIU came in the previous matchup, a 87-63 victory on February 9, 2025. Southern's last win in Terra Haute came on January 16, 2025, while the Sycamores have not won against SIU on their own court since 2014.

Indiana State comes into this match with an 8-18 overall record while they are 4-12 in conference play. They currently are riding a five-game losing streak dating back to February 5. Their last game was a 95-80 loss to UIC on Thursday night.
