Road Spree for Women’s Basketball Ends Saturday at Valparaiso

CARBONDALE, Ill. – After spending the past two games on the road, Southern Illinois women's basketball (7-13, 4-7) end their stretch of road games Saturday afternoon with a visit to Valparaiso (0-23, 0-12) at 1 p.m.

SIU is coming off a nail-biting win over UIC on Thursday night, 55-53. The game came down to the final buzzer where Jeniah Thompson put back an offensive rebound to win the game for the Salukis. Alayna Kraus was the driving force on offense, dropping 18 points and four rebounds, and she was helped out greatly by Tkiyah Nelson and her game-leading five assists. SIU was led by their defense, which held the Flames to 37.7% shooting from the field and just 14 points in the opening half.
