Weber and the media services staff of two full-time assistants, two graduate assistants and an undergraduate staff, work together to publicize and promote the University's 18 varsity athletic teams. The staff maintains the official athletics website (SIUSalukis.com), produce media guides and game programs, promote athletes for awards and coordinates all media-related functions at Saluki home events. Weber is the primary contact for men's basketball and men's golf.
Weber is a 1991 graduate of Ball State University, where he majored in journalism and political science. He obtained a master's degree in sports management from Marshall University in 1995. Prior to SIU, Weber worked five years as an assistant sports information director at Vanderbilt University.
Tom and his wife, Sally, reside in Carterville with their sons, Tom and Colton.
