Under Anderson's tutelage, the Salukis have recorded an impressive 44-22 (.667) record in Missouri Valley Conference matches, placing third or better in six seasons. Individually, eight players have earned All-Conference honors in singles play with Anderson at the helm, and four doubles teams have claimed All-Conference laurels. Fadzai Mawisir was the MVC Player of the Year in 2009, while Melanie Delsart claimed the No. 1 singles crown in 2012. Amanda Taillefer (No. 6), Martina Vianna Ce (No. 6) and Anita Lee (No. 5, No. 2) have also won MVC singles titles.
Southern has posted impressive marks in the classroom since Anderson took over in 2008, with 31 players earning Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete awards.
The 2013 season ranks among the best all-time at SIU, as the team won nine of its first 10 matches, climbed as high as No. 59 in the national rankings, won a school-record 19 games, and Anderson earned MVC Coach of the Year honors.
Prior to joining the Salukis, Anderson spent four seasons as head coach of men's and women's tennis at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Ky. During the 2007 season, she was a finalist for NAIA National Women's Coach of the Year. In addition, Anderson was named the Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
In three years at LWC, she took the women's team from last in their conference to a semi-finalist finish in the NAIA National Tournament. Anderson also improved the men's team from 16th in the nation to a quarterfinalist finish at the NAIA National Tournament. In four years of coaching men's and women's tennis in the NAIA, Anderson posted a career record of 141-38.
A native of Clarinda, Iowa, Anderson did her undergraduate studies at Concordia University (Neb.), where she obtained a bachelor's degree in sport management. She played No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for four years at Concordia, in addition to playing varsity volleyball for the Bulldogs.
