Milwaukee, Wis. - Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Alon Savidor, Julian Angel Botero and Peter Bong and Lukasz Soswa claimed three titles at the Marquette Invitational on September 28-30 at Marquette University.
Savidor won the Flight 2 singles titles, Botero won the Flight 4 singles title and Bong and Soswa won the Flight 2 doubles title.
"I was really pleased. Alon played great. To win at the #2 singles position is big. We played well against some teams that beat us last year," said Missy Jeffrey, Salukis head coach. "Soswa is now 10-1 in doubles play after winning another doubles title. Julian has been playing well the last two tournaments reaching the finals at the East Tennessee State Tournament and winning last weekend at the Marquette Invitational. It was a great weekend."
Savidor had a bye in round one before winning three matches to claim the title. He beat Sean Moran of Western Illinois 6-1, 6-4, Chad Camper of Wright State 6-3, 7-6 (10-5) and Justin Holsen of host Marquette University 6-4, 6-3 in the final.
