The Southern Illinois University Carbondale (1-3) men's tennis team will host Eastern Illinois University on Thursday, March 8. The Salukis will try to rebound from three losses on the road last weekend.
"We're obviously hoping to get a win against Eastern Illinois. We should have Tim Marsh (#4 singles) back for the match, which will strengthen our lineup. I expect Eastern to be a little stronger than Valparaiso and Illinois-Chicago (both beat the Salukis last week)," said Missy Jeffrey, Saluki head coach. "I think Eastern will be strong at the top of the lineup, but I think we're stronger at the top, and our top two doubles spots will be solid with Tim Marsh back."
The match will be the final opportunity for the Salukis to play before spring break and until their next match against Vincennes University on March 21.
"It's the last match before spring break and this match will keep us from having a long break without playing. It's important to get a win, but it's more important to get better and prepare for our conference matches. This will be a good match. We can improve and build some confidence," added Jeffrey.
The match will be held on Thursday, March 8, at 3 p.m. at the University Courts.
