Mills, King and Beitler Take First at Arkansas

Fayetteville, Ark. - Kevin Mills, Loren King and Noa Beitler all took first place at the John McDonald Invitational hosted by the University of Arkansas Saturday.
Mills, a sophomore from the West Indies, took first place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.43 while King, a senior from Glen Ellyn, finished first in the 400-meter high hurdles with a time of 52.64. Beitler, a freshman from Israel, finished first in the women?s 800-meter run in 2:11. 30.
Other solid performances from the injury depleted squad were Latrice Gray finishing second in the high jump with a leap of 5-5 for the women and Carterville's Brock Lovelace finishing third in the javelin with a toss of 183-1.
Senior Caryn Poliquin also had a good meet finishing third in the shot put (45-5.25), third in the hammer throw (170-3 and fifth in the discus (135-4). In addition, sprinter Yolanda Mask took fourth in the 100-meter dash (12.21) and seventh in the 200-meter dash (25.03) while Marina Shafran finished fifth in the high jump (5-3) and Laura Grafton finished fifth in the javelin (91-8) for the other top female performances.
For the men, Marion's Nathan Alexander finished sixth in the long jump (22-9.75) and the triple jump (45-2.50) along with Dan Harrell finishing seventh in the pole vault (15-5), Nyles Stuart seventh in the long jump (22-9) and Ian Lowthian seventh in the 400-meter dash (48.94) for the remainder of the men's top ten finishers.
The men and women are at the Drake Relays April 27-28 for their next action.
