Saluki Men's Tennis Loses to Southwest Missouri

Springfield, Mo. - The Southern Illinois University Carbondale men's tennis team suffered another defeat this weekend, but this time at the hands of Southwest Missouri State by the score of 6-1.
The Salukis dropped to 2-9 overall and 1-2 in the Missouri Valley Conference and will hit the road for matches against Louisville April 12, Illinois State April 14 and Bradley April 15.
The lone winner for the Dawgs was Peter Bong at No. 3 singles with a 6-2, 5-7, retired win against Filip Knezevic. Val Epure, the Salukis' No. 1 player, almost forced a third set before losing the second set tie-breaker 12-10. He teamed with Bong to also force a tie-breaker at No. 1 doubles before dropping the match 9-8 and 9-7 in breaker.
