SIU Men's Golf Finishes Ninth at Drury Intercollegiate

Jackson, Mo. - After ranking seventh following two rounds of competition, the Southern Illinois University men's golf team fell two spots to post a ninth place finish Tuesday at the Drury Intercollegiate hosted by Southeast Missouri State.
As a team, the Salukis shot a 918 (307-305-306) for the tournament which put them 30 strokes behind this year's tournament winner, the University of Evansville (888). SIU was one of 14 teams on card for this year's intercollegiate.
Senior Brian Kolmer paced all SIU golfers with a three-round mark of 223 which tied for 12th among the tournament's top-20 placewinners. Kolmer shot rounds of 75 and 72 before concluding the two-day event with a final round score of 76. Senior Brad Dunker then rounded out SIU's top-two finishers with a three-round mark of 228 (73-78-77). Dunker's two-day total tied for 28th.
SIU will return to action this weekend (Sept. 15-16) when the Salukis head to Normal, Ill., to compete in the D.A. Weibring Classic.
