Salukis Continue Fall Season At East Tennessee State Invitational

Carbondale, Ill. - Southern Illinois University Carbondale will compete this weekend at the 2001 East Tennessee State University Invitational on September 21-23 in Johnson City, Tennessee. The event will have a few Division I and plenty of top Division II teams.
"I think it'll be a real good tournament for us. Our new players (Richard Booth and Lukasz Soswa) had a chance to see college competition last week for the first time and the team is playing well. There will be some good Division I schools there but not a lot of nationally ranked schools so this is a good opportunity to build our confidence," said Missy Jeffrey, Saluki head men's tennis coach.
Alon Savidor will play #1 singles and #1 doubles with Richard Booth. Booth will also play #3 singles. Peter Bong will play #1 singles and play #3 doubles with Brian Blake. Blake will also play #6 singles. Lukasz Soswa will play #2 singles and #2 doubles. Julian Angel Botero will play #3 singles and #2 doubles.
"We're continuing to look at different doubles teams. Everybody is excited about getter better and playing again this weekend," added Jeffrey.
The East Tennessee State University Invitational will take place at the Memorial Center on the East Tennessee State University campus.
