Women's Cross Country Places 13th At Indiana St. Invitational

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Katie Meehan and Noa Beitler finished 32nd and 33rd, respectively, to lead the Southern Illinois University women's cross country team to a 13th-place finish Saturday at the Indiana State Invitational.
Meehan clocked in at 22 minutes, 20.2 seconds, just in front of Beitler, who completed the 6K course in 22 minutes, 20.4 seconds. Beitler was competing in her first meet of the season.
Jodi Huddlestun (82nd, 23:25.6), Erin Simone (129th, 24:30.7) and Ty Davis (138th, 24:42.8) rounded out the Salukis top-five, as SIU finished with 358 points in the 178-runner, 20-team field.
Arkansas won the meet with 36 points. SIU finished just ahead of the host team and Missouri Valley Conference rival Sycamores in a meet that featured many big-time schools.
SIU will return to action on Saturday when they host the Saluki Invitational.
