Soswa Falls In Singles Final At MVC Championships

Des Moines, Iowa - SIU freshman Lukasz Soswa lost his bid to win the #5 Singles Flight title at the 2002 MVC Men's Individual Tennis Championships on Sunday. Soswa dropped a 6-3, 6-1 match to top-seeded David O'Connell of Indiana State on Sunday.
Soswa was the lone Saluki to advance to the finals. Indiana State won nine of the ten titles available including six of seven singles titles and all three doubles crowns.
The tournament was the first event in SIU's spring season. The Salukis will be back in action on Friday, March 1 in a dual meet against nationally-ranked Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky at 4 p.m.
