The Southern Illinois football team hosted its second annual Easter Egg Hunt on March 22nd for approximately 100 students at SIU Head Start.
Each player had one student they helped find eggs, and then the team stayed and played with the children.
The activity was part of a larger community service campaign launched by SIU head coach Jerry Kill. This particular project was coordinated by football secretary Sharon Lipe.
"The teachers at Head Start love it when the players come out to visit," Lipe said. "This is the only male interaction some of these kids get. I'm not sure who has more fun, the kids or the athletes."
