Softball's Harre, Mueller, Among National Leaders

Carbondale, Ill. - Freshman right-hander Amy Harre was ranked nationally in two categories this week as the NCAA released its first set of Division I national softball statistics for the 2002 season.
Harre currently lists tied for second in saves (8) and fourth in ERA (0.56). Appearing 26 times on the mound this season, she has struck out 110 batters in 125.1 innings. In addition, she has been touched for just 10 earned runs.
Leading SIU this season with a 10-8 record, Harre has also lifted the Saluki hurlers to national recognition in ERA. Ranking ninth with an earned run average of 1.08 as a staff, the Dawgs follow Stetson (0.72), UCLA (0.72), Hartford (0.84), Baylor (0.91), Florida Atlantic (0.93), Villanova (0.93), Fresno State (0.93) and LSU (0.96).
Junior left-handed pitcher Renee Mueller was picked among the nation's top-50 as well. A native of Johnston City, Ill., she stands at 45th with an earned run average of 1.12.
