Kolmer Earns MVC Golfer of the Week Honors

Carbondale, Ill. - For the first time this season, senior Brian Kolmer was named Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, announced today by the league office.

Kolmer shot a season-low of 70 at the Inaugural Bullet Illinois State Intercollegiate Championship on April 22. Playing at Whisper Creek in Huntley, Ill., Kolmer edged fellow MVC rival Andy Mickelson of Bradley by two strokes.

A native of Salem, Ill., Kolmer shot a 35 on both the front and back nine en route to capturing the individual title. In addition to winning the tournament, he was named to the All-State Team.

Behind Kolmer's performance, the Salukis topped the six-team field which consisted of schools located in the state of Illinois, including Augustana, Northern Illinois, Bradley, Illinois State and Rock Valley.
