Men's Golf Picked to Finish Seventh at MVCs

Carbondale, Ill. - Southern Illinois was picked to finish seventh at this year's Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship which begins this weekend in Silvis, Ill. The two-day event is hosted by Illinois State and will take place at TPC at Deere Run on April 29-30.

SIU tallied 28 points in the overall voting by league coaches. Wichita State topped the pre-tournament poll as the Shockers are expected to four-peat. WSU received six first-place votes and a total of 76 points.

Also ranking ahead of the Salukis were second-place Illinois State (71), third-place SMS (59), fourth-place Drake (58), fifth-place Northern Iowa (48) and sixth-place Evansville (40).

Rounding out this year's voting were Bradley (16) and Creighton (14).
